Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open

Momoko Ueda is now reminded of an experience she had herself one year and five months ago -- victory on birthday.

She finished the Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open (November 20 - 22) tied for fifth at 10-under-par 206 (67-71-68).

Chie Arimura (67-62-67=196, -20) won the victory while tying the lowest 18-hole score record (62, -10) on the LPGA of Japan Tour on Saturday and reaching her 22nd birthday on Sunday.

Momoko is playing the LPGA [of Japan] Tour Championship RICOH Cup (November 26 - 29) in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan this week to complete her 2009 regular season.

Mizuno Classic

As the clear sky and good course conditions at the Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club in Mie Prefecture, Japan helped set her second top-ten finish on the 2009 LPGA Tour, Momoko Ueda recorded a 10-under-par 206 (68-68-70) at the Mizuno Classic to be tied for ninth.

Bo Bae Song won the event at 15-under-par 201 (68-65-68).

Momoko will take part in the Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open (November 20 - 22), an event on the LPGA of Japan Tour, in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan next week.

Hana Bank - KOLON Championship

Momoko Ueda made a birdie on her finial hole, or on hole 18, in Sunday's final round at the Hana Bank·KOLON Championship (October 30 - November 1), an LPGA Tour event in Incheon, South Korea, to finish tied for 11th at 1-under-par 215 (70-75-70).

The winner is Na Yeon Choi (68-71-67=206, -10) having one stroke over the runners-up Yani Tseng (69-70-68=207, -9) and Maria Hjorth (68-72-67=207, -9).

Now Na Yeon and Yani are both two-time winners on the LPGA Tour, as well as second-year LPGA Tour players along with Momoko.

Momoko will play the Mizuno Classic (November 6 - 8), which is not only the LPGA's but the LPGA of Japan's three-day event, at the Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club in Mie Prefecture, Japan this week.

Masters GC Ladies

Momoko Ueda carded rounds of 75-73-71 for a 3-over-par 219 tied for 28th at the Masters GC Ladies (October 23 - 25) in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

I went to the golf course to watch Momoko play in the first round and cheered for her on the field for the first time.

Jiyai Shin (70-70-68=208, -8) won the championship by defeating Yuko Mitsuka and Akiko Fukushima in a one-hole, sudden-death playoff.

Momoko will play the Hana Bank·KOLON Championship, an LPGA Tour event in South Korea, this week.
