CN Canadian Women's Open
Momoko Ueda carded rounds of 67-72-70-65 for a 10-under-par 274, tied for second at the CN Canadian Women's Open (September 3-6) -- posting her career-best finish as an LPGA tour member.
After 54 holes, she tied for 21st at 4-under-par 209 (67-72-70).
In the final round, she got through the front nine with one birdie and one bogey.
However, she played the back nine so spectacularly as to make six birdies without a bogey, with three straight birdies on holes through 16 to 18.
The highlight was that on the green of the 18th hole she sank an 11-yard putt for birdie to complete 72 holes in first place among the already-finishers as of then.
After all, she finished tying for second with Angela Stanford (70-65-69-70), Morgan Pressel (71-71-66-66), Ai Miyazato (69-69-69-67), and Karrie Webb (69-68-68-69).
“My play and the accompanying result this week have cleared away the cobwebs pent up in myself this year,” said Ueda, who is expected to show a good performance in Japan this week at one of Japan's major tournaments 2009 LPGA (of Japan) Championship Konica Minolta Cup.
